John Ramsell remembered

Those who have been in contact with the Bach Centre or have been using the remedies for a long time, may remember my father John Ramsell.  He was born in 1924 and would have been celebrating his 100th birthday today, 2nd September 2024!

John’s life at the Bach Centre began in 1971.  His sister Nickie  Murray had come to know Nora Weeks and Victor Bullen (Dr. Bach’s friends and colleagues) since her first visit to them in the early 1960s.  When they asked her if she would like to work with them, with a view to continuing the work after their time, my father was also invited to join ‘the team’.

In 1976 Nora made John and Nickie her joint partners, and after Nora’s passing in 1978 they continued the Bach Centre’s work at Mount Vernon together – making the remedies, packing and distributing them, writing about them, helping people understand and use them for themselves, and generally spreading the word – whilst at the same time, always remaining true to the principles entrusted to them: completeness and simplicity.

Mount Vernon and the gentle healing work that Dr. Bach completed there, was an immensely profound part of my father’s life, both physically and spiritually.  He, along with Nora, Victor, and his sister Nickie, will be remembered always for the part he – and each of them – played to ensure that Dr. Bach’s work and that of the Bach Centre continued to thrive.

During his time at the Bach Centre, John saw the work grow from its humble beginnings in the garden shed, to international distribution.  Those years were not without their share of difficulties, but he believed wholeheartedly in Dr. Bach’s work and simply applied his mind to fulfilling the promise he had made to Nora and Victor.

He was sincere and honest, hardworking and generous, and those who knew him will remember his gentle counsel, as well as his sense of humour and the twinkle in his eye.  But more than that, he believed unconditionally in all that he had been entrusted to uphold, adhering to principle and integrity and, for that, he had a strength of character that was rock solid!

Father, grandfather and for your dedication, thank you.  Happy Centenary John!
